Modi consistently increased his vote since 2014 to 303 seats.
this year polls predicted a landslide and Modi promised (and prayed for) a super-majority with 400 seats.
but the worlds largest electorate gave 2 fingers to religious, populist authoritarianism.
Modi retained 240 seats, a 20% decrease, but enough for him to lead the NDA coalition.
